MY PhD JOURNEY

Dear colleagues,

It has been eight years since I completed my PhD thesis. It took me eight years to complete my PhD from 2010 to 2017. Honestly, it was not an easy journey for me. In fact, that was the most challenging years in my life. But the journey has make me much more wiser than before.

The first year was more of completing the requirements for the coursework. Alhamdullillah, manage to squeeze through to proceed for my thesis writing. It took me one and a half years with the first supervisor. Unfortunately, he left the university after getting a good offer from other university.

In the mid of my third year, I was with the second supervisor. Starting all over again for my thesis. After one and a half years of tedious job, the second supervisor left the university for a greener pasture. Frustrated with my PhD progress, I moved to Alor Setar. I began to be too complacent at the new workplace for about a year. That was the time the termination letter from the university comes in. Two semester without any progress.  Without hesitation, I have registered myself to another university for my PhD.

Then come my Superwoman in my sixth year. She was my saviour in my PhD journey. We have a long chat, and push me to make an appeal to the Postgraduate Center. And she has also willingly to take me under her supervision for the last three years that I have for me to complete the study. And she was my third supervisor.

Starting from scratch again, I start to write my thesis. After two and a half years, completed my thesis and pass my viva voce with minor correction. Alhamdullillah, manage to submit my final thesis right on the dot at the end of the my eighth years of study. 

Thank you to my Supervisor and thank you to my wife, who has been the pillar of my strength. I end my writing with my many thanks to Allah.
